Mr & Mrs Desoutter - Needed to add low cost private guest accommodation to their Grade II* Listed property

Bondstones obtained a certificate of proposed lawful use for Mr & Mrs Desoutter (Red Doors Farm, Luppit, Devon) in mid 2013.  We were kindly recommended to help the Desoutter family by our friends at Blackdown Shepherd Huts. Click the image to view the full testimonial...

Summary;
Bondstones secured permission to site a shepherds hut in a private garden, with no further planning permission or listed building consent needed!  We also formally established the residential curtilage of the property - which the local authority had previously tried to limit to an unreasonably small area...

Mrs Madely - Proposed to convert a remote Blackdown Hills 'barn' into an industrial unit for a family business...
"...thank you so much for your planning advice. While it wasn't necessarily what we wanted to hear we think your professional and objective approach has saved us a substantial amount of expense in the long run.

Your alternative suggestion - to purchase an existing workshop in the nearby village - is actually going to pay significant dividends as the business grows - our accountant has even made it tax efficient for us - an excellent result all round"

Mr & Mrs Padre - Owners of a substantial listed house on the Southern edge of Dartmoor National Park
Dear Ian, Further to introduction from our accountant may we offer our sincere thanks for your guidance and plans for the proposed alterations [to the house]. Your advice and ideas are absolutely on the button and your suggestions for the old cart shed will make a fantastic addition to our property. The difference your scheme is going to make to the house is inspired! Why didn't we think of it before? It all seems so obvious now!

J Wright - Proprietor - completebuildingregs.co.uk
Thanks for assisting with the community centre job, excellent results as usual!

Phil & Sue - Rural Arts & Crafts Business, Nr Wellington
Ian, a quick note to say thank you for a wonderful result with our planning application: When we first approached the council to sort out our permission we left their offices with heavy hearts and more questions than answers - we never thought it would actually be possible to finish our building work!  Despite an unbelievably negative planning officer, you seem to have achieved the impossible for us!  We are so happy with the finished results. Thanks for all your hard work

Regulated by THe Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

Bondstones is a regulated firm of Chartered Surveyors - specialising in "Town & Country Planning" (emphasis on "country"!) and Architectural Design.  Our head-office is based in the West-Country and we typically work in the geographical area between Lands End and London.  However, on occasion, we also work further afield...

We are extremely proud to be 'Regulated by the RICS' - this means we are a professionally qualified and regulated practice - bound by a code of conduct, strict rules and regulations. This means that we will only undertake work which is directly within our field(s) of expertise and that we are also fully insured (both Professional Indemnity and Public / Employers Liability).

Our team are passionate about architecture and the countryside, its' sustainable future and re-use of rural buildings:  We offer our professional expertise to satisfy a range of rural property issues, including (but not limited to) Planning Consultancy and Architectural Design / Architecture.  Our primary interest is in the delivery of sustainable projects - and particularly the 'change of use' of buildings & land.

Despite our cutting edge offer and market leading output quality, our services are available to all of our customers at surprisingly low rates - especially compared to our competitors.  OK, its true to say you will always find someone cheaper... but isn't that always the way!

Our philosophy is to provide objective advice from the outset - indeed may of our new clients are amazed at the level of advice that we offer at first contact... Our overriding mission is to "quote high and bill low - providing valuable advice and exceptional design - which should delight our clients at every opportunity"

We generally undertake work for:
  • Farmers & Farm Businesses
  • Rural Estates / Estate Managers
  • Equestrian Properties & Businesses
  • Home / Property Owners*
  • Tourism Entrepreneurs
  • Countryside Attractions & Recreation Sites

* Please note that 'small' extensions are not really our cup of tea... However if necessary we would be happy to refer you to a suitable 3rd party specialist.

That said, large, unique extensions and complete 'one off' domestic overhauls really do float our boat... so please get in touch!
