RURAL PLANNING ADVISOR

An excellent opportunity with a young, dynamic and growing firm! A position particularly suited to a talented, enthusiastic and suitably ambitious individual, preferably with direct / hands on commercial experience, an interest in rural land and property (and sympathetic development thereof).
Due to steadily increasing demand on our planning & design services we are seeking expressions of interest from a qualified / experienced planner to join the Bondstones Team - primarily to assist existing and new clients - and also to aid the development and expansion of the business across the South & South West of England...
The ideal candidate will have a sound working knowledge of the English (and Welsh) Planning system. Will demonstrate a detailed understanding of planning law and show a flair for policy interpretation together with a track record in successful project delivery - particularly for rural clients / stakeholders.
In addition applicants should have proven experience in a variety of rural issues:
Membership (or at-least eligibility for membership) of RTPI / RICS and / or CAAV will be highly beneficial - together with a degree in Planning (or a directly related subject - possibly: Rural Estate Management / Rural Enterprise & Land Management / Land Management or similar). Comparable / direct relevant commercial experience will certainly be considered.

ARCHITECTURAL TEAM MEMBER

We are urgently seeking expressions of interest for a new design role in our architectural services team.
The candidate will have experience of working within a small practice and on a variety of concurrent projects, particularly bespoke housing projects, barn conversions, commercial and small scale development projects.
Membership of RICS, RIBA or CIAT will be essential - together with a related degree and relevant commercial experience.
A thorough understanding of CDM 2015 regulations is essential.

APPRENTICE CAD TECHNICIAN / SURVEYOR
Bondstones are seeking to employ an Apprentice CAD Technician / Surveyor, within our Architectural Design & Building Surveying team. The ideal candidate will be keen to forge a career as a CAD Technician / Draughtsman and support our expanding team based in Cullompton, Devon.
It is intended that the role will offer the opportunity to progress your career as your experience grows.
Reporting to the Architectural Services Director, you will support the delivery of all forms of feasibility, planning and construction drawings, under professional supervision from your line Manager and colleague Surveyors.
You'll work in collaboration with other design disciplines, acquire knowledge and practical skills through on-the-job learning to attain a suitable qualification, developing your industry knowledge through affiliations and continuing professional development.
The role will include a variety of site survey work, office based computer modelling & drafting, customer & contractor meetings and off-site training as necessary.
The vacancy is for either a recent school leaver or possibly someone already enrolled on a college / university course and wanting to move away from full time education to an on-the-job learning approach.
Desirable (but not necessarily essential):
It should be noted that we are seeking an individual with long term prospects within our growing business. Accordingly, rates of pay will be commensurate with ability and following a period of probation full time employment is anticipated. We are not seeking a wanderer or someone simply looking for ‘a job’. You will therefore be determined to start a career in the Architectural field and will have considered other options aside from an apprenticeship.
Individuals who have started an apprenticeship in a similar role elsewhere or wish to re-train from other trades / professions will be considered.
Interviews for shortlisted Candidates will include a test of aptitude and will involve a full working day 1-to-1 assessment in our offices.
Pay / terms: Fixed 12 month term with a 3 month probationary period at Apprentice NMW. Following probationary period progress & remuneration shall be re-evaluated.
