WHATBondstones is a Blackdown Hills based planning and design practice - trading under the relatively amorphous banner of: 'Chartered Surveyors'.
We specialise in Property Asset Enhancement - Architectural Design and Rural Planning Consultancy. Our primary focus being the 'change of use' of buildings & land (and other planning matters across the wide, rural spectrum). Our usual instructions tend to include a combination of one or more of the following elements:
|
WHEREOur small rural office is located Churchinford - a quiet village in the centre of the Blackdown Hills AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) - located roughly half way between Taunton, Chard & Honiton.
We like to keep things local; so we tend to work in the three counties on our doorstep* Devon, Somerset & Dorset. That said our specialist rural planning services often extend to locations across the South of England. We predominantly cover these local authorities:
*we also cover other areas - when asked! |
WHOThe practice is lead by Ian Firth a Chartered Surveyor with over 12 years experience in rural property matters and especially in contentious planning & development projects...
One of the things that sets this firm apart is our open and collaborative approach with other specialists... It's fair to say that no one can be an expert in all things and, accordingly, we know our limits... ...we call upon an extensive network of trusted colleagues to add expert support where needed. With this in mind we are proud to offer a 'complete' service for almost any project! |
HOWOver recent years we have become increasingly frustrated by observing planning submissions that ignore other legislative requirements and fail to make the best use of opportunities available...
Cutting corners and doing things on the cheap is almost always false economy. So we focus our energy on a "right-first-time" approach based on an apparently simple maxim; Well designed = Fit for purpose
Our sole interest is getting the result that our clients need (and want)!
|
Whether we're talking barn conversions, alterations to a country pub, changes to an agricultural shed or developing a new house - we want to be certain that our professional design and planning work is top notch. We appreciate that many prospective clients have preconceived ideas and that we may well be judged against other [often less qualified or less experienced] individuals. However we are committed to giving correct advice and excellent results to suit our clients needs.
We are always more than happy to meet prospective clients for a complementary initial consultation, however we never knowingly give 'free' advice. We believe that there is no such thing - essentially 'free anything' is given at the expense of existing clients and this is neither fair or ethical...
Aside from the above, we have developed the BONDSTONES business with a specific intent of trading below the dreaded VAT threshold - this being entirely for the benefit of our private non-registered clients. We are therefore selective with our work and tend only to take on projects that we will be happy to be associated with. We also save our clients cost by delivering our services through a fully digitised office (we aim to work without paper so far as is physically possible) - by doing this we can work almost anywhere (provide we have a table, power and mobile signal) and so we can help save the world too - one sheet of paper at a time!
We firmly believe that our well considered and highly professional approach to design & business provides our clients:
